Morrison's Jazz Club

It’s been more than fifty years since Mount Gambier last had a dedicated jazz club. In that time we’ve seen the incredible growth of the Generations in Jazz event each year and the establishment of the James Morrison Academy of Music. The next logical step is the creation of a Jazz club where people can enjoy this music on a weekly basis, and where both the students from the Academy and visiting guests can perform for the local community. We’ve styled the club on some of the great jazz venues we’ve played at in the USA, particularly New York – that means a casual atmosphere and a focus on the music. There’ll be regular jam sessions, duos, trios, big bands, visitors from all over the world, and that essential jazz ingredient – spontaneity. ...
