Standing prominently on the corner of Wharf and Richmond Streets, the Maryborough Government Office Building is an excellent example of the Inter-War Georgian Revival style. From the safe room, the typing pool area and the managers' offices - there is much to explore in this imposing building.
The Maryborough Government Office Building was built in 1940 on the Court House reserve; the building replaced an early garden between the Court House and Wharf Street. The building was designed to compliment the adjacent Court House as well as the nearby Post Office and Customs House.
