Tallaringa Conservation Park

Tallaringa Conservation Park is a vast wilderness of vegetated dunes and gibber rises, located 100 kilometres due west of Coober Pedy on the fringe of the Great Victoria Desert. The park supports a variety of important wildlife species that have adapted to live in this dry, arid environment. For a four wheel driving adventure, travel along the Anne Beadell Highway, a rough bush track, which commences on the eastern edge of the park and ends at Laverton in Western Australia over 1,300 kilometres away. This route is not inhabited, access is by four wheel drive vehicle only and there are no services or facilities. Camping is only permitted in clear areas within 100 metres of the Anne Beadell Highway, and not within five kilometres of Tallaringa Well. Tallaringa Conservation Park is located 615 kilometres north west of Port Augusta. Access is via Stuart Highway, Coober Pedy or Mabel Creek Station. Access may be restricted due to local road conditions. Travel is not recommended from November to March inclusive. A Desert Parks Pass or park entry pass is required to enter the park.
