The Vancouver Street Festival is a dynamic large-scale street festival that celebrates heritage, culture and the arts. The Festival happens on the historic Vancouver Street, location of the first European settlement in Western Australia.
Now in its fourth year, the 2017 Festival will deliver an enhanced experience for attendees. Experience the tastes, sounds and textures of history and uncover some surprising links to contemporary life. The story of wool in Albany will be a particular focus this year. Demonstrations of spinning and weaving will feature alongside the urban art that now decorate the old Wool Mills and the social movement of ?yarn bombing?. The annual Vintage Tweed Ride will celebrate wool as the active wear of the 1800s!
The Festival features family activities, gourmet food, entertainment, artisan market stalls and exhibitions that connect the community and visitors with the heritage of Albany....
